World Trigger Manga Summary
Earth is under constant attack from Neighbors – monstrous monsters from another dimension who threaten our way of life and steal away all that matters to us. At least we have the elite warriors of Border to co-opt alien technology to defend Earth as we know it! Osamu Mikumo may not be the ideal agent but will do whatever he can to defend life on Earth as we know it – until he meets Yuma – an unconventional humanoid Neighbor that seems determined to overthrow Osamu’s entire belief systems! Can two natural adversaries become allies?
After an unseen gate suddenly opens on Earth, Mikado City becomes overrun with strange beings known as Neighbors – malicious beings impervious to traditional weapons – from another world. In response, an organization called Border Defense Agency was established in order to combat their threat using special trigger weapons called Triggers. Years have gone by since opening of this gate yet Neighbors remain an imminent danger and members of Border remain on watch to safeguard our planet’s safety.
Osamu Mikumo is not permitted to use his Trigger outside of headquarters due to this delicate situation; however, when an unknown new student in his class is lured into an illegal area by bullies and attacked by Neighbors – leaving Osamu with no choice but to do what he believes is right in order to save Yuuma Kuga from them – Osamu finds out later that Yuuma Kuga is actually humanoid Neighbor in disguise!
